Meet Elodie Grace
For those of you who don’t know, Brad and I welcomed a baby girl into the world on March 8th-- Her name is Elodie Grace! I thought I'd go ahead and share the cliff notes version of her birth story, a little bit about our sweet girl, and some of our favorite pictures. (How I narrowed it down to just these is beyond me!)
I had a relatively easy pregnancy. No crazy morning sickness, not a ton of cravings.. although I did want a strawberry pop-tart and drove to Target solely to get said pop-tart and it was amazing! Thankfully no gestational diabetes, but I did have some high blood pressure here and there. Nothing too serious. Flash-forward to 38 weeks and my blood pressure decided to get a little more out or hand. I was told I would be getting induced that day-- Surprise! I immediately freaked out, called Brad and then Lorinda. Once I made my way upstairs to labor and delivery, Lorinda surprised me and showed up for moral support (best best friend ever!) until Brad could make it from work. Once the induction process started, I was in labor for 31 hours but it was worth every second when we got to meet our beautiful baby girl!
She turned 3 months old on June 8th and we actually spent our first night apart from her since we had a friends' wedding (I was a guest and their day of coordinator)! Elodie is the biggest source of joy in our lives. She loves being outside, playing on her play mat and spending time with her favorite people. She has yet to appreciate the finer things in life and sleeps through trips to the Zoo, Target, Chick-fil-a and scenic road trips, but she will learn one day! She is so animated (like her momma!) and makes the funniest and sweetest faces that have us cracking up!
Being a mom is the hardest and best thing that has ever happened in my life! Each day brings a new set of challenges and a million more reasons to love our daughter! I don’t want to rush it but I can’t wait to see what an amazing girl Elodie ends up being. Until then I am soaking up every moment, finding joy at every stage, and trying to remember to give myself some grace along the way!
