Mariana + Dan | Chesapeake Bay Foundation

This is a bit of a throwback post, seeing as how Mariana + Dan were married back in April of 2017, but we never got a chance to blog their wedding and let me tell you... this wedding deserves to be blogged!! Here's how it went down...

Leading up to their wedding day, Mariana and Dan remained calm and hopeful that the weather would cooperate. Unfortunately, on the morning of the wedding Mother Nature stepped in and gave Mariana and Dan a lot of “luck” in the form of rain and wind. Despite the rain and wind, Mariana and Dan’s wedding was beautiful. They were a very detail-oriented couple that incorporated plenty of personal details and stunning flowers throughout the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

The backdrop for the ceremony was a beautiful archway crafted by the groom. Surrounded by their family and friends, the couple exchanged heartfelt vows and rings. Mariana stated that Dan was her “sunshine on a rainy day” (literally!), while Dan shared how their relationship is built on respect and silliness. With only a few rows of chairs, and the rest of the guests huddled around the intimate ceremony, there was such a sense of togetherness and love.

Mariana was the picture of grace wearing a blush color BHLDN dress, with an added tulle skirt, for a touch of elegance during the ceremony. Dan complimented his bride-to-be in a classic gray suit. The couple took advantage of breaks in the rain to take their first look photos and some portraits.

My favorite part of the evening was when Mariana’s dad surprised everyone by hopping on the band’s keyboard and sharing a song he had written the bride when she was little. The song was beautiful and there was not a dry eye in the house. For his encore, the father-of-the-bride proceeded to sing Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” and really got the party going!

I am so thankful that this beautiful wedding was the one to kick off our 2017 season. Dan and Mariana-- I said it back then and I'll say it now-- thank you so much for trusting me to be a part of your wedding day. It was an honor to witness your love and such a treat to get to know your friends and family. I hope married life is treated you better than you could have ever imagined!
