Elizabeth + Nate | Emory Grove

Nora and I definitely have favorite venues to work at, but I'm always excited when we get to check out a new one, so when Elizabeth reached out about her and Nate's wedding at Emory Grove I was thrilled! Emory Grove used to be a Methodist camp meeting site, home to an open-air tabernacle, summer cottages and a historic hotel.. It's nestled back in the woods and provides a peaceful backdrop for a wedding day. The cottages still stand, leading you down the path to the tabernacle for the wedding ceremony, and the hotel is such a fun and unique space for the reception. There's even a huge wraparound porch that's perfect for cocktail hour!

Probably my favorite part of working with Elizabeth leading up to her wedding day was designing the ceremony space. Together we dreamt up a floating arch for the couple to stand under while reciting their vows, paired with fern accents to match the ones hanging around the porch at the hotel. Toni from Bay Blossoms NAILED bringing our vision to life and it was so cool seeing everything come together.

Elizabeth and Nate utilized all of the space at Emory Grove perfectly for their wedding, including the circular driveway outside of the hotel. Instead of a traditional dinner, guests were served salads family-style and then got to choose between two food trucks that were parked outside!

The rest of the night they got to dance the night away to a fantastic band and celebrate the newlyweds!

P.S. I feel the need to add a note to this post about this being my last pre-baby wedding. I was 37 weeks pregnant and 100% feeling it! That being said, I was SO excited for Elizabeth + Nate's wedding and was thrilled that I was able to be there. I had so much fun chatting with Elizabeth during the planning phase and would have been bummed if I hadn't gotten to celebrate with her and Nate!
