Becca + Travis | River Farm

Becca and Travis’ love story is nothing short of an adventure! With a common interest in International Relations, they met at Princeton as new students in the master’s program. A couple of days of conversation and a dinner invitation later, they were inseparable. One of my favorite wedding details was a framed email, from Travis to his mom, as proof of his instant connection with Becca! Throughout their years of dating, engagement and wedding planning, the couple lived in seven cities and visited over 17 countries, both together and apart! Phew! I said adventure didn’t I!? No matter what Travis and Becca faced, they faced it as a united front and they were stronger because of it.

After a Skype meeting and a couple of phone calls, I finally had the pleasure of meeting the couple exactly 1 year from their wedding day, at the beautiful River Farm in Alexandria, VA. Since the couple would be traveling a lot in the coming year, we went over a ton of details at this visit. I was instantly smitten with Becca and Travis, and their love and passion for life. My favorite part of working with Becca and Travis was how truly grateful they were for everything they had and the team that surrounded them. They hired the best vendors and then fully trusted in their expertise to produce the best day ever!

On their wedding day, Becca and Travis could not stop smiling except for the bouts of happy tears shared by all. River Farm is one of the most naturally beautiful venues that we have come across, so you don’t need a lot of decor to make a statement. Dotting the tent with dozens of paper lanterns was a simple touch with an elegant effect. Becca and Travis opted for simple centerpieces atop large lazy susans to better accommodate the family style dinner service for their guests. They did a great job utilizing all of the unique spaces River Farm has to offer. From a beer garden through the winding paths overlooking the Potomac River, to a “selfie” photo booth in the tented area, the guests had plenty of opportunity to enjoy the experiences that the venue offered. With a picturesque ceremony in the iconic gardens and a dance party in the ballroom, the day was nothing short of perfection!

I was truly honored to be a part of Becca and Travis’s wedding day! You two will always have a spot in my heart. I wish you nothing but happiness in life! I hope you create a beautiful life together in Colorado.
